In 1999, Shawn was given the opportunity to perform on BET's Comicview, and as a result, he quickly gained notoriety all over the world.. After six performances on BET, Shawn branched out to other networks, including HBO, COMEDY CENTRAL, and NBC. His song, "You've Gotten Fat", a parody of Usher's "You Got It Bad" became a worldwide sensation, getting hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube and creating a cult following.
Shawn's comedic prowess hasn't gone unnoticed by the entertainment industry, and has garnered him invitations to showcase for the Montreal Comedy Festival and the Aspen Comedy Festival.
