To all of our Houston neighbors, customers, friends, and comedians,
We were very fortunate that the rain and flooding from Hurricane Harvey did not physically harm the Joke Joint Comedy Showcase venue. After our show on Saturday night, flood waters in the parking lot in front of the club rose very quickly, making the parking lot unpassable. Several cars were abandoned and still remained in our parking lot even on Wednesday following the storm. We evacuated our cars to the Fuqua overpass to avoid damage.
While our neighbors are suffering with damage to their homes and the loss of loved ones, jobs, cars, and pets, we want you to know that the Joke Joint will make every effort to continue to operate, allowing us to help in the recovery efforts.
Our normally-scheduled weekend shows will continue every Friday and Saturday night.
We will continue to offer free and deeply-discounted tickets to our customers.
We are removing the two-item minimum purchase requirement at most shows.
We will attempt to provide our venue to as many fund-raising comedy shows as possible.
Ticket revenues from these shows will go directly to the organizer of the event and their selected charity.
The club will invite comedians and other celebrities to perform at the venue, with door revenues going to local charities.
Comedians that would like to come to Texas to perform and to aid in the relief and recovery efforts are asked to contact Ken@JokeJoint.net with the subject line "I want to help".
The Joke Joint Comedy Showcase family, and all of our employees, are dedicated to helping our community through donations and continued laughter and entertainment.
